The
vision of Daddy Homes is all enduring but the masonry needs work.

As the cottages grow older, we have refurbished some and
replaced a few.
Woodburn Cottage
The new toilets at this cottage have been completed
through the contribution received from a foreign
committee.
Heathland Cottage
The foreign committee has funded the entire roofing of
some of the cottages, and Heathland received the top
priority. Entire roof along with the new guttering
and downpipes has been replaced giving the cottage an
entirely new look.
Wales Lodge & Birissa Cottage
These are two cottages with the smaller boys and girls
which are constantly talked about by our
supporters. With the assistance of the committee we
have been able to provide much better facilities to
the children in these cottages with
swings, slides, junglr gym etc. Expenses for play
equipments at Birissa have been through an endowment
courtesy the late Mrs. Judith Bland who was a former
student of this cottage.
Thorburn Cottage
The work is progressing at a very fast pace, hopefully
the cottage will be opened during the Birthday
Celebrations in September.
Wiston Cottage
Wiston has been provided with new toilets_both
European and Indian style with wash basins, and
separate bathing rooms with tiled flooring.
Hart Cottage
Jeffery Fegredo, a former Hart boy, donated funds for
the repair work and refurbishment in the interior of
the cottage.
The Betty Sherriff Stadium
This Basketball stadium has taken a completely new
look through the persistant efforts of a foreign
Committee. The court is looking magnificient with the
new fibre glass boards, additional seating
arrangements and playing surface which has been
redone.
The Dispensary Chapel
Mrs. Molly McCabe's contribution helped towards the
reconstruction of the building which was dedicated by
The Rev. Samuel Lepcha, Presbyter of the MacFarlane
Church of North India. Miss Bertha Barclay had also
made a contribution towards the benches, chairs,
lectern, etc. of this chapel which presently looks
beautiful.
Roads
The pathways and roads have been metalled duing this
period. These range from Calcutta to Heathland and
even down to Fraser Hostel. Macgregor and Mansfield
which always had very rough pathways have now been
metalled and this effort will continue to be carried
out until the total network is complete.
