MAY FAIR'08. The Event held on May'08.

The period revolving around the May Fair is always most eventful,and one that endorses the involvement of everyone in the Homes-staff, children and even the employees.May 9th marked the prize Day function in the morning at which Mr K.B.Dorji,Additional Superintendant of Police,Kalimpong was the Chief Guest.The Kindergarten and Junior School put up two very delightful plays later the same evening which were enjoyed by one and all who were present.The much awaited May Fair was held on 10th morning,and Mr. P.R.Pradhan and his wife were the Chief Guests for the occasion. Mr. Pradhan is the former Principal of S.U.M.I.and also a renowned figure in Kalimpong.Meenakshi Pradhan,Vice-Captain, was crowned May Queen for the year 2008.Once May Fair was declared open,stall holders did brisk business at the food and the games stalls,and the children who eagerly await this fair each year were as enthusiastic as ever as they flocked around the various stalls to spend their coupons.Fortunately the weather held out beautifully this year and the school field witnessed a good reprsentation from parents and well-wishers from the town who thronged the stalls with equal enthusiasm.The flower service to commemorate the death anniversaries of Dr. and Mrs Graham is held on sunday closest to 15th May. This service was held on 11th morning in the Katherine Graham Memorial Chapel and was most solemn.Following the main service,a brief service was held at the Garden of Remembrance.Wreaths representing the Grahamfamily,thr Overseas Committees,Board of Management,Local Adisory Committee,etc.were placed at the gravesides of our foundrs who were remembered very fondly for their dedication and love for the children.

INDEPENDENCE DAY'07.

The Independence Day is always celebrated with great enthusiasm,pomp & show in Kalimpong.. Almost all schools of Kalimpong participates in the march past parade.People from all areas flock together to witness the event.
That day rain was terrible.All the participants were soaked tothe skin ,ground was slushy,but that did nothing to dampen our students and they gave their best performance.
